In this group, I will be working with parents so they can learn how to work with their ADD/ADHD children, educating them on what it means and how it will be affecting not only the child but the entire family. There are too many children and families suffering because they lack plans and solutions for managing the behaviors of ADD/ADHD. I give families tools they can use to take charge of the problems themselves. You will be making clear action plans that will guide you toward success. ADD/ADHD cannot be treated overnight, and probably cannot be treated in a doctor’s office. It has to be approached in the home. Parents need to understand that it's more than having the child to be quiet and conform to the rules for a while. This disorder often disrupts the normal life of a family. Sometimes parents tend to focus so much on the needs of an ADD/ADHD child that the needs of other siblings are neglected. ADD/ADHD can tear the fabric of a family by undermining parental authority and creating suspicion and doubts. Parents become completely focused on negative behavior, the youngster self-image deteriorates, the family collapses, and the child gives up hope of ever being good or normal which leads to further collapse of oneself. STOP ADD/ADHD from tearing the fabric of your family by undermining parental authority and creating suspicion and doubts.
A step-by-step plan on working with your child's ADD/ADHD Discuss how ADD/ADHD affects the whole family Diagnosis and Labeling Medication: Should you and Shouldn't you: Implication of Parenting Styles on ADD/ADHD Help your family with ADD/ADHD move from disaster to growth as your child becomes the human being he or she is truly destined to be Help parents re-focus from the needs of an ADD/ADHD child to other siblings that are being neglected Help parents develop goals and action plans
